
FORENSIC DISABILITY SUPPORT

Desert Way is a community support service for men living with disability who have recurring contact with the justice system.
We work to break the cycle of repeated incarceration by delivering personalised, evidence-based and trauma-informed supports that strengthen long-term community stability.
• Justice-involved men who are/have:
• 18+ years old
• Have a psychosocial disability (including mental health conditions)
• Intellectual and cognitive impairments
• Neurodevelopmental conditions
• Complex trauma
• Substance use challenges
• Cultural, social or geographic isolation


• Practical daily living support
• Community access & participation
• Capacity building & life skills
• Legal obligation & court support
• Case management
• Outreach & residential support (where available)
• NDIS access support
• Emotional regulation & coping strategies
• Transition support (custody community)
• Advocacy & service coordination

Corrections, Custodial Services, Legal, Health, Disability Providers, Families, Advocates.


We provide goal planning, reintegration support, behaviour support strategies, appointments.

We provide NDIS applications and evidence, functional assessments, linking to appropriate disability support, ongoing advocacy.

We provide practical and emotional support to return safely to the community after custody or remand.
Eligible people are Men aged 18 years and above, must have chronic mental health difficulties, cognitive impairment, intellectual disability or neurodivergence, have a history of contact with the justice system.Referrals can be from Corrections Department, Legal Agencies, Health/community/disability/ organisations, Family and self referrals.Click on the button below to access our Brochure, PDF referral form and Online referral form!
